Holy Week at Casa

Morning workout

This sudden Holy Week trip lead us to Zambales, which has always been a go-to beach destination because of its proximity and less crowded shorelines.

Hidden in this province is Casa San Miguel, a charming bed and breakfast/museum/cafe/music school. "The one that got away."

It's a vast property within clusters of fruit-bearing trees. During our stay, there were students rehearsing with their string instruments for a Good Friday performance.

Half an hour away from Casa San Miguel is Crystal Beach.

Tents can be pitched under their trees, which are similar to the ones found in Anawangin.

Shorelines in this place were wide enough to accommodate a number of both tourists and locals.

The beach area near our place was filled with fishing boats but a few minutes of walk along the shore can lead to this estuary. There were locals swimming and riding their bamboo rafts on its calm waters.

A trip to Zambales will not be complete without a stop-over at Subic. We had our late lunch at this lakeside restaurant.
